Getting Here

From Ercan (sometimes called Lefkosa or Nicosia) Airport in Turkish Republic of North Cyprus.

The villa is about an hour's drive from Ercan Airport. Flights to Ercan Airport from UK have to land in Turkey and you will need to change planes. This is fairly straightforward. Carriers include Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airways. Our local car hire company will collect you from Ercan and bring you direct to the villa by taxi free of charge if you hire a car with them for a week or more.

From Larnaca Airport in South Cyprus.

The drive from Larnaca Airport to Ilgaz takes about one hour and fifteen minutes. There is a border crossing between South Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. The crossing is straightforward for holders of EU passports. Whilst you can hire a car at Larnaca Airport and drive yourselves we would suggest that the easiest way to arrive is by taxi transfer. Our local car company will collect you from Larnaca Airport and bring you direct to the villa and deliver your hire car to the villa for a small charge. Please ask for more details.

From Paphos Airport. Paphos is approximately 180kms from Ilgaz and the drive is approximately 2.5 hours. A taxi transfer is therefore expensive.

  • We had a lovely stay at Vineyard Villa and Top House, enjoying the views, clean air and gentle breeze. Thank you Carola for being so attentive and providing everything we needed in both villas.

  • My family and I come to Ilgaz every year and we grow to love it more and more. Carola and Oz are always so lovely and caring and staying here feels like winning the lottery with the beautiful views and amazing house conditions (clean rooms and pool). There really is nothing bad to say about this place because everything is perfect every single year. Thank you again Carola and Oz for making this holiday amazing. We will be back next year.

Another lovely holiday in Ilgaz, very relaxing and restful and just what we needed. As ever, Carola and Oz were really welcoming and helpful. This was our first time in Vineyard Villa, having stayed in Villa Lisa and Carob before. We loved the amazing views of the mountains and the sea and the fantastic pool was a hit with us all. We would really recommend Hoots - great food and friendly atmosphere. Pretty sure we'll be back in Ilgaz soon.

  • Wonderful, fantastic, brilliant.
We had such a lovely relaxing stay in beautiful Vineyard Villa. Sunny days chilling out around the gorgeous big pool which we were swimming in until we left in November. We met up with Cypriot friends and had delicious food at Hoots Bistro and at Gillham Hotel. It was great to be back in Ilgaz. Such an amazingly lovely location with sea and mountain views. As always Carola and Oz were most helpful and we enjoyed their company. We hope to return here in spring.

  • We travelled by car from Germany to Northern Cyprus. Our first holiday on the island. Our expectations were exceeded! Vineyard Villa and Carola and Oz contributed significantly to this. We fell in love not only with this villa but also with the area. Ilgaz is a very special place with wonderful people. We couldn't have spent our holiday any happier. We met so many nice people and Oz and Carola were always there for us!
Now it's time to go - tonight we are heading back to Germany. We leave this island with great memories and one thing is for sure- we will come back!
We definitely recommend a visit to Hoots! Ibrahim cooks sensational food and his wife Lydia makes the very best desserts.

  • Memorable holiday in North Cyprus. We are a family of six visiting Cyprus for the first time, looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. We certainly found that in this wonderful villa, in the beautiful village of Ilgaz. The best thing about the whole experience was the incredible hospitality and attention received from the villa owners. Carola is a wonderful, kind and friendly lady who treats guests as if they were members of her own family. From answering my initial email expediently, to arranging pick-up from and to Larnaca Aiport, to ensuring we had a generous welcome pack (food and drink) awaiting us, to stacking the villa full of everything you could possibly need, to maintaining the pool in superb condition at all times, to offering help and advice about where to go / what to do etc... all without the slightest hint of intrusion... made the whole experience so special!
The journey from Larnaca Airport to Ilgaz is about 75 minutes. The villa sits high up in the mountains which allowed us spectacular views of the sea, mountain ranges, sunset, sunrise etc. There are no shops within walking distance and therefore you will need a car for shopping, sightseeing etc. The villa is on two floors with the upper one being especially spacious. There is a wonderful balcony on the upper floor that encircles the whole villa, giving you too many spots to choose from for a quiet sit down to enjoy the scenery. The highlight of the villa must be the swimming pool which is massive! There is a shallow half and a deep end for the more experienced swimmers. There is an enormous space encircling the pool where you can place your sunbeds or have a walk around! BBQ in this villa is a must and there is a purpose built area for this.
There are many leisurely activities to enjoy in North Cyprus but we chose the boat trip, jeep safari up the mountains and a visit to Alagadi beach (very quiet). We also did just about all the available water sports! We had a wonderful time during the visit and would thoroughly recommend the villa, the village and above all the owners, Carola and Oz. If you are after a quiet, peaceful break from the hubbub of daily life, this is the place to visit.

  • Vineyard Villa is set in a beautiful quiet village with a multitude of lovely spots to sit and absorb the view, the weather, the peace, the wildlife or whatever you wish. We are a family of six and the house absorbed us all - as did the enormous pool which was supreme! We probably had one of the best, if not the best, most relaxing holiday ever. The house is incredibly well equipped and really don't bother bringing any books! The fans and air con work brilliantly. The house is perfectly placed to access everything you might need on your break. Along the main road there are a multitude of eateries and supermarkets. There are empty coves and beaches within 30 minutes drive or busier activity filled ones much closer. For the more adventurous a longer trip to the Karpaz Peninsula is perfectly doable. Again within a short drive - and driving is easy here - there are turtle releases to see, make a visit to Girne / Kyrenia ( a late afternoon / evening trip might be worth contemplating), Hilarion Castle and Bellapais Monastery. We ran out of time but I can't imagine a more spectacular place to go paragliding. Carola and Oz are totally approachable, helpful and wonderful hosts and we can't thank them enough. We feel very privileged to have stayed at Vineyard Villa and would return in a heartbeat.

  • My family party of 8 stayed in this stunning location for our two week holiday. Everyone had the best of times and did not want to leave at the end of our vacation. The villa has everything you could possibly need and is very spacious. Many doors leading out onto full surrounding sun terraces. The pool is huge which we enjoyed using very much. The setting of the villa up in the mountain foothills is very special. Panoramic views everywhere which you can't get bored of looking at. The owners of the villa, Carola and Oz, are wonderful. Very special people whose attention to detail in ensuring your stay is as good as it can possibly be is exceptional. The wine from the winery next door is highly recommended and the food from the nearby restaurant "Hoots" is the best. Also try a meal at Gillham Vineyard Hotel - my son said it was exceptional. We will definitely be back to this wonderful location again and as you can tell we would highly recommend this place to others.

  • Stayed 03/08/2018 - 19/08/2018
We stayed in this villa as a family. Beautiful secluded villa with the most stunning views of the mountains, vineyard and the sea. Plenty of room in this villa with a lot of character. The pool size is absolutely amazing (full size) and has breathtaking views. A quiet and relaxing area but also close to restaurants with great food and lovely local tapas and great entertainment.
Also the beaches were not too far. We cannot fault this area in any way. It is a stunning area with all you need locally. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Thank you to the owners for a great memorable holiday.

  • This is the second holiday that we've booked to stay in Carola and Oz's villas and we can say that it is the second of many more. This villa is in an idyllic location surrounded by the mountains, the vineyard, with a view of the sea. Very clean villa with modern amenities, aircon, tv, wifi. Great pool. So many outdoor areas to sit, we found many secret hideaways.
Inside the house has everything you could possibly need.
Carola and Oz are the nicest people you could ever meet. Will go out of their way to ensure that your holiday is as enjoyable as possible and will provide whatever you need. I was happy just to sit by the pool all week in peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
Absolute paradise and cannot wait to go again.
